Ivan Gonzalez

Ivan Gonzalez is a strong, strategic litigator with a focus on commercial litigation, contract disputes, and real estate and construction matters in both state and federal courts. His background as an assistant counsel with the Department of the Navy equips him with a strategic approach to complex legal challenges.

Ivan is an attorney with Gammage & Burnham’s Litigation Practice Group, where he leverages his extensive knowledge and experience to advocate for clients in high-stakes litigation. His practice encompasses various aspects of commercial litigation, including contract disputes and real estate and construction matters, allowing him to represent clients effectively in both state and federal courts.

Before joining the firm, Ivan served as an assistant counsel with the Department of the Navy Office of the General Counsel. In this role, he provided comprehensive legal counsel to Navy officers and senior executives, focusing on employment law, procurement law, and real estate matters. Ivan’s experience includes litigating complex employment issues such as sexual harassment, discrimination, and federal whistleblower claims, equipping him with a nuanced understanding of both legal and strategic considerations.

Ivan earned his law degree, magna cum laude, from the Michigan State University College of Law. During his time at MSU, he actively participated in moot court and the Immigration Law Clinic, enhancing his advocacy skills. He also completed an internship with the Honorable Denise Page Hood of the United States District Court for the Eastern District of Michigan. Prior to law school, Ivan obtained his B.A. in Secondary Education – History, also magna cum laude, from Arizona State University, and served as a Social Studies teacher in the Valley.

Outside his legal practice, Ivan enjoys spending time with his wife and two sons, traveling, and reading.  A native Arizonan, he is a devoted fan of the Arizona Cardinals and Sun Devils.
